Established in 1960, MicroPump Inc. is the originator of magnetic drive gear pump technology - the "leak-free" pumping solution. Today, Micropump is the market leader in seal-less, low-flow gear pumps offering standard models, configure-to-order options, and custom solutions. Their high precision products serve markets including the aerospace, electronic, lab/analytical, medical, and industrial all of which demand top quality manufacturing processes.
MicroPump was familiar with the Anilam 1400 control from several machines in their small run production area, so when they were in the market for a new machine, they were looking for a reliable machine tool with the same type of easy control. When they took delivery of their Fryer MB-14, tool and die makers Ted Barrett and Ken Knodell found the machine to be just what they were looking for -- more capacity, open design, excellent rigidity and easy-to-use.
New prototype parts are easily turned into programs with the standard DXF translator and the easy-to-use conversational touch screen on the control. “We are able to get a prototype part programmed and running faster. Being able to let the machine run unattended allows us to work on other projects in the area,” says Barrett. “With the variety of things we do on a daily basis, the Fryer MB-14 with the Touch 3000 has made things move more quickly and smoothly throughout the department”.
Senior Tool & Die Maker Ken Knodell works on a prototype part on the Fryer MB-14 with Touch 3000 control.
