Tom Lloyd of Sheboygan, Wisconsin always dreamed of running his own machine shop and working by own his rules. In September 2002, Tom went to the IMTS show in Chicago in search of the machine that would get his new business, Wisconsin Tool and Machine Technologies (WiscTMT), off the ground. One of his first stops at the show was the Fryer Machine Systems booth. Tom liked what he saw but it’s a big show with lots of machine builders to see. Late in the day, after being bombarded with the multitude of choices, Tom returned to the Fryer booth convinced that the Fryer MC-50 was the perfect machine to start his business.
Tom took delivery of his first machine in early 2003 and he hasn’t looked back since. In 2005, he added an MC-10E to his shop and later that year added an ET-21 lathe to take his capabilities even farther. Tom’s customers include Fortune 500 companies as well small and medium companies scattered over eastern Wisconsin making for an interesting mix of parts to be made. Tom has not only grown his inventory of machines but has added 3 machinists to his staff and is soon moving into a larger shop.
